FC CLACTON boss Kieron Shelley has wished Louie Newland and Terry Rymer well after both parted company with the Seasiders.

Midfielder Newland is joining Bostik League premier division neighbours Brightlingsea Regent - subject to the relevant paperwork going through - while striker Rymer has moved to Thurlow Nunn League rivals Brantham Athletic.

“Louie’s been playing for me for three or four years and he’s a great lad,” said Shelley.

“As well as being a very talented player, he’s also a fantastic character in the dressing room and he’ll be missed by everyone here.

“We wish him all the best and hope he achieves all that he wants to achieve at step three level.

“Everyone at the club is right behind him.

“The same goes for Terry, who I’ve known for years.

“He feels like he needs a change and so this opportunity is a good one for him.

“Again, we wish him well.”

Clacton drew 2-2 at Hadleigh United in their latest Thurlow Nunn League fixture on Saturday.

New signing Matthew Eve scored their second goal after Tom Holdstock’s opener.

“Matt’s come here with a bit of a point to prove and to score goals and he produced a really energetic performance,” said Shelley. “He did a job for the team and took his chance well.”
