THE Thorpe and District Summer League staged its finals and presentation night at Thorpe Social Club.
During the season the league has held raffles and collections to raise money for the charity Riley’s Superstar Fund.
Riley Garner, six, accompanied by his mum and sister, were guests of honour to help present the prizes and to receive a cheque for £750.
This generous donation will be put towards his further treatment.
The winners and runners-up were: Mixed triples: Winners: Martin Horn, Cheryl Horn and Peter Smith; Runners-up: Bryan Margerison, Chelsea Richardson and Martin Wells. Mixed doubles: Winners: Sharon Sturley and Steve Barker; Runners-up: Chelsea Richardson and Bryan Margerison. Ladies' doubles Winners: Maz Barnes and Joan Barnes; Runners-up: Sheila Busby and Alison Ranson. Men’s doubles: Joe Twinn and Mark Twinn; Runners-up: John Boulton and Rob Barton. Handicap singles: Winner: Bryan Margerison; Runner-up: Andy Bacon. Thorpe Social Challenge Cup: Winners: Blacksmiths Arms; Runners-up: Dominos. Ladies' singles: Winner: Joan Barnes; Runner-up: Sheila Busby; Men’s singles: Winner: Bryan Margerison; Runner-up: Stuart Cowley.
