THE annual BHF Corsa Classic golf day took place at Clacton Golf Club.

It was hosted by Dan Clark and Bob Davidson and, with the help of the 130 golfers who took part, they raised an outstanding £2,075 for the British Heart Foundation.

The format was a greensome/stableford and the standard of golf was exceptional.

Clark and Davidson would like to thank everyone who gave up their time to play and all those who helped make it another successful fundraising event.

The overall winners were Ben Usedon and Brady Diplock, while the men’s runners-up were Paul Pidgeon and Gary Lee, on countback, with 49 points.

The ladies' winners were Brenda Lord and Kath Sinnott, with 43 points, and the longest drive came from Gary Lee.

Nearest the line was Julia Hewett and nearest the pins were Brenda Lord, Brian Adams, with a hole-in-one on the fifth, Tony Chandler, Keelan Sorrell and Mick McCathie.

Meanwhile, Keelan Stanton and Chay Robinson won Clacton's annual open Battle of Britain competition.

They achieved the best aggregate of the day and received the spitfire trophy, which was presented to them by club chairman Bert Foster.

Wilf Elliot won Clacton's Canny Ryall Cup, while Sandy Cocker won the club's Carrington Cup with a winning score of 39 points.
