CLACTON Archers hosted their annual outdoor open tournament in the grounds of Thorpe's Lifehouse Spa.

Archers attended from clubs across Essex and Suffolk, including some from Colchester, Braintree and Raydon.

Thirty-three archers competed during the day, shooting either St George, Albion or Windsor rounds.

Eight Clacton members attended, including two from the junior league.

Clacton archer Alan Mocket took the gold medal for gents' longbow with a score of 549, including 16 golds.

David Robbins and daughter Jessica Robbins also both won gold.

David managed a score of 639 and 21 golds, with Jessica scoring 679 and 33 golds.

Carol Jagai took gold with a score of 788 and 48 golds and Anastasia Simpson also took gold with a score of 780 and 47 golds.

Silver medals were taken by Daisy Simpson and Amie Mowlam-Tett, while other gold medals were won by Tony Sewell, David Fellman and Suzanne Norton.

The judges on the day were Richard Pilkington and Tracey Jackson.
