BRIAN Walker was victorious as Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club's Seniors section played their July Medal.

Walker returned a good sub-par score of 86-18-68, on a beautiful for golf.

Dave Needham was runner-up with another sub-par round of 90-21-69 on countback from third-placed Peter Stephens, who carded a sub-par round of 94-25-69.

Clacton's ELGU Harris Bowl team captain Sonja Strutt welcomed Southend-based Thorpe Hall Golf Club Ladies to the Clacton Club for the third match in this year’s ELGU Harris Bowl.

The Clacton team of Sonja Strutt (team captain), Katy Yates, Denise Pink, Fiona Cope and Angela Barratt were all very well supported by their caddies and the club's supporters.

All the matches were extremely close battles with three finishing on the 18th and one on the 19th.

The result was a 4-1 win for Clacton, meaning they have won all three of our matches so far.

There is one match at Playgolf Colchester remaining, on August 4.

Clacton Golf Club's Ladies played their Ford Trophy, with Julia Hewett victorious with a bogey score of +5.

In second place was Linda Hargreaves on level par, ahead of third-placed Brenda Lord on countback.

Sandy Cocker, Pat Messenger, Mary Cole, Heather Bradfield and Denise Pink all finished just behind, on -1.

Continuing his fine form this season was Wilf Elliott, who returned a winning score of plus three.

The ever-improving Harvey Bell was second with plus one, while and Henry Goodwin was third with minus one.
