FRINTON Lawn Tennis Club hosted their second ladies' doubles tournament. With beautiful weather, meticulously groomed grass courts and a host of accomplished players, the tennis commenced with some amazing displays of speed, agility and grace.

Club coach Jill Felstead supervised the event.

The overall winners were Frinton's Shiho Main and Noriko Kelly, of Lexden.

The runners-up were Sara Bryson and Sheila Abery (Saxmundham).

Peter Brown presented the awards on behalf of Frinton Lawn Tennis Club.

The final open ladies' doubles event will take place on June 22.

Meanwhile, in the recent Road to Wimbledon event, Isobel McInnes and Alex Skinner outshone the competition to become overall winners for Frinton.

They will now play in the county finals at Redbridge in July.

Club press officer Mary Milner said: "All at Frinton are 100 per cent behind Isobel and Alex.

"They are both in outstanding form and we are immensely proud to have these junior players representing our club.

"They have produced outstanding results to date and we are hoping they can knuckle down to take the honours next month.

"It will be a challenge, but they are both playing so well and we hope this form carries them through to the finals."
