A QUARTET from Millers Barn Golf Park were victorious at the Stisted Hall Classic, at Braintree Golf Club.

The charity day raised funds for the Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court Masonic Care Home.

Representing Millers Barn were Faye Trigg (six), Peter Thurlow (18), Mark Adams (19) and Ross Martin (22).

Their combined stableford score led to them winning the team prize by three points, finishing with 85.

On behalf of her team-mates, Trigg thanked Jeffrey Cripps, from Millers Barn, for organising the day and raising over £300.

Meanwhile, Barn members are in full swing with their competitions.

Great scores have been recorded in the men’s competitions, with the winners being Jim Alves (winter nine), Michael Ironside (winter knockout), Mick Bonney and Tony Childerley (winter pairs), Graham Avis (senior spring cup), Mick Bonney (Easter egg), Jamie Sayers (stableford), Peter McEvoy (new season welcome), Alfie Glasgow (RNIB), Mick Bonney (St Helena Hospice), Alan Tye (spring knockout) and Mel White (Jubilee Cup).

The club's CHAPS Society have also got off to a flying start, with the Monthly Medal winners being Jeff Attwood (March), Doug Chaplin (April and May) and Tom Cornwall (June).

The club's seniors are playing at home to Playgolf Colchester on Monday, June 19.
