There is an extensive coaching programme, including free play from 12pm until 4pm, mini tennis from 1pm until 1.30pm, adult coaching from 2pm until 2.30pm and family time from 2.30pm until 3pm.

Bookings can be made via the Great British Tennis Weekend website, entering "Frinton" in the search box, and the open day is being sponsored by Coopers BMW.

Avenues Car Club will be hosting a vintage car show at the venue, including several rare models, including a 1932 Lagonda and a Daimler V8.

Sponsors Coopers BMW will also showcase some of their newer models.

Youngs' ice cream van will be on site at the club entrance and the heated outdoor pool will be available.

Meanwhile, in the Colchester and District League, Frinton Ladies A went head-to-head with Lexden Rackets and Squash Club.

Captain Julia Holder and Fenella Pearey paired up, winning all three games.

Carol Clancy and Anne Cosby also won all three games while Jill Felstead and new A signing Amy Buxton won one set and lost two, with one very close call on a tie-break to take the match 7-2.

Holder produced a spectacular ace in one of the matches and the win puts the ladies well on track at the start of the season.

Clancy, Cosby, Holder and Pearey also played in the Essex Tennis Ladies' Senior Cup against Lexden.

This competition runs with two pairs.

This fiercely-competitive match resulted in a draw, but a decider saw Clancy and Pearey join forces to win the crucial tie-break.

The Frinton ladies will play group leaders Westcliff Hard 1 in the next round of the competition.
