Both were rocked back on their heels.

The action swayed as both boys dug deep to share an even first round.

Dragisic began the second in the same manner, while Briscoe tried hard but couldn't control the rampant Holland Shore boxer.

His heavy head and body combinations were beginning to take their toll.

Briscoe was now being bullied in the small ring which suited Dragisic's aggressive approach.

After several more blistering combinations, the towel was thrown into the ring by Briscoe's corner.

Also at the Hockley show, there was a skills bout for Josh Seward against Brentwood's Daniel O'Connor.

His opponent was tough and well schooled.

However, Seward's loose and relaxed style helped him keep in control with classy counter-punching.

He used the ring cleverly, although in the third round he changed tactics and stood his ground.

Both boys unloaded in mid-ring until the end of a classy skills contest.

Arnie Dawson was left disappointed when his opponent became unwell two days before the show.

Elsewhere, at the Chalvedon show, Holland Shore's Blake Housman scored a comfortable, unanimous decision against the host club's Louie Kirby.

From the start, he was up on his toes against his southpaw opponent and loose punches and sharp hand speed won him the first round.

In the second and third rounds, Housman changed his tactics as he closed in tight on the Chalvedon boy.

Continuous combinations found their mark.

Kirby was backed up to the ropes and bullied around the ring, looking to survive, while Housman's heavy-handed punching handed him a brilliant win.

Last up for Holland Shore was Fred Baynham, who was up against Colchester's Jamie Beamer.

The pair met in a lively skills bout.

Both lads showed loose, relaxed styles and all the rounds were close.
