HOLLAND Shore Boxing Club dynamo Jack Housman showed tremendous commitment when contesting two skills contests over a two-day period.

First up he appeared on the Billericay show, against the home club's Jenson Davis.

The action was lively, with the boys swapping blows as both got involved.

The action swayed either way, with both unloading constant combinations.

For three rounds, the boys showed their metal, working in mid-ring without backing up.

The second skills bout was against another home club boy, Mathew Page, on the Norwich City show at the Mercury Halls.

Again, Page was a handful but Housman was now using a different style, up on his toes and using the ring well, landing sharp left-hand leads and letting Page walk on to spiteful counter-punches.

Fortunes swayed during the three rounds, with Housman now having his last three contests over an eight-day period which shows brilliant commitment.

Also on the bill for Holland Shore and showing his class after a two-year break was Joss Seward, who was also up against home club boy Ross McCallion.

McCallion began fast in the skills but was met with left hands by Seward, who oozed confidence.

The ring was small and that should have favoured McCallion.

However, Seward was happy settling his feet and trading blows, bringing punches up through the middle.

As the second round ended, Seward was now in control as loose combination found their mark.

McCallion kept trying in the third, with the crowd behind him, but Seward's fitness and condition always kept him one combination in front to finish a lively scrap.
