FRINTON'S Kris Beech was sky high after being crowned as Britain's kite land boarding champion for 2016.
He won the freestyle event after a dramatic final weekend on the huge sandy beach at Westward Ho!, in Devon.
He and rival Will Rose, from Camber Sands, were tied for championship points at the final event of the Raw Kite British Championships.
However, Beech managed to work his way through the heats and to the final round before claiming the overall win.
He also came second in the racing championship.
"In 2009 I dreamed of becoming the freestyle land board pro British champion and it feels amazing to finally reach that ultimate goal," said the 28-year-old.
"After a huge amount of time spent at the beach practicing with the support from friends and family, it shows that anything is possible."
Beech said the conditions were ideal in Devon.
"The wind picked up to 20 knots, making it perfect for kite land boarding," added the former student at Colne Community School, in Brightlingsea.
"It gave all riders the opportunity for a great variety of tricks."
