STANWAY ROVERS romped to a 4-0 victory at home to Long Melford, in tonight’s Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest at The Hawthorns.

The visitors conceded two own goals, either side of a strike from Craig Hughes.

Tyler Kemp then put the cherry on the cake by adding a late fourth.

Elsewhere, BRANTHAM ATHLETIC scored a last-gasp penalty to secure a 1-1 draw at home to WIVENHOE TOWN.

Matthew Eve put the visitors ahead, smashing into the roof of the net from Jamie Baker’s cross.

Brantham were then reduced to ten men after a red card for Jack Sibbons.

However, Wivenhoe’s Lee Clowsley was sent off in the closing stages for a handball on the line and Ollie Mann converted the resultant penalty to salvage a point for the Imps.

FC CLACTON were in Essex Senior Cup second-round action but lost 2-0 at Hullbridge Sports.

The Seasiders’ Josh Vaughan was given his marching orders after picking up two yellow cards.

COGGESHALL TOWN also bowed out of the Essex Senior Cup, losing 1-0 at Stansted.
