HOLLAND-on-Sea Bowling Club handed over a cheque for £200 to the Clacton Sea Cadets.
This was as a result of money raised over a two-year period, when members of the club's winter carpet bowls section forfeited a one pence penalty for every foul shot played.
Cadets Ewan Bevans, Joe Andrews, Ellie Chilver, Kasia Bates-Cutts and Suzie Gordon, along with Sub-Lt Ben Chandler, were presented with their cheque by bowls club committee chairman Bill Jones.
The donation, combined with a similar sum received from the Jack Petchey Outstanding Achievers Award Scheme, is to be used to purchase camping equipment for use by sea cadets undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme gold medal expeditions on Dartmoor and the Brecon Beacons this summer.
