THE Colne College Rugby Academy’s first venture into rugby league brought immediate success with the squad winning the South of England Colleges’ Cup.
The academy normally play rugby union but decided to go into rugby league to maintain fitness and introduce the players to the format during the summer term.
They beat south London college St Joseph’s in a high-scoring game, 60-40, after scoring six unanswered tries in the first 20 minutes.
Man-of-the-match and captain Dan Harding is pictured holding the trophy.
