CLACTON Cricket Club are holding an open day on Saturday.
The event has been planned to encourage young players to take up the sport.
It will take place from 3.30pm until 5.30pm on the Vista Road playing fields.
Boys and girls of all abilities, between the ages of five and 16, are welcome. Equipment will be provided.
The club’s coaches will be on hand to pass on tips and information and there will be pathways into the club’s various teams.
For information, contact Gary Kirk on 07880 192077.
Meanwhile, Clacton’s first team had a frustrating start to the new Two Counties Championship season.
They had been set to begin their division two campaign at Ipswich.
However, the wet weather caused the match to be cancelled.
Clacton will now look to get under way at home to Easton on Saturday.
