WET weather has put paid to today's Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League curtain-raiser between Frinton Cricket Club and Sudbury.
The sides had been set to meet on the opening day of the season, at Ashlyns Road.
However, yesterday's incessant rain has led to the pitch being waterlogged.
Among this weekend's other sporting fixtures to be called off is FC Clacton's Thurlow Nunn League football match at home to Thetford Town, which has now been rearranged for April 26.
