CLACTON and District Indoor Bowls Club played their finals weekend.

Thanks went to Bob Hawkridge, Joe Crane, Norman Hoadley and Laurie Freeman, who marked the singles games, all the members that took part and organiser Brian Hobbs.

Trophies will be handed out at the club’s presentation night on April 22.

Results: Saturday: Ladies’ singles: Marilyn Crane beat Jean Alton 21-5. Ladies’ novice singles: Carol Bramble beat Lesley Hinson 21-14. Men’s singles: Phil Lewis beat Derek Chase 21-13. Men’s novice singles: Don Harrop beat Barry Smith 21-16. Men’s fours: David West, Jim Pallett, Peter Halliday and Kevin Jackson beat Robert Scott, Robert Rose, Mark Hale and Brian Hopkins 21-20. Ladies’ fours: Jackie Flatman, Sheila Sargeant, Barbara Lagsding and Roni Simpson beat Margaret Smallbone, Pam Feaviour, Marilyn Butler and Jan Millington 26-17. Mixed pairs: Lesley Hinson and Will Hinson beat Sheila Howe and Steve Vears 21-12. Ladies’ pairs: Carol Coyle and Stella Newell beat Pauline Swift and Sue Dartnell 20-17. Mixed triples (three years and under): Barry Smith, Brian Clark and Marilyn Clark beat Martin Bramble, Elaine Hartley and Geri Carter 26-12. Sunday: Men’s triples: Peter Lewis, Mark Hemstedt and Harry Manning beat John Wilson, James Kirkpatrick and Alan Baxter 24-10. Ladies’ triples: Chrissie Greenwald, Patsy Bentall and Pam Feaviour beat Rita Seamons, June Morris and Stella Newell 18-17. Men’s pairs: Dave West and Steve Vears beat Richard Bell and Tom Graham 24-14. The French Triples: Terry Dixon, Lesley Hinson and Arthur Newell beat Terry Greenwald, Sandra Harris and Joe Coe 19-15.

Husband-and-wife team Jill and Peter Finch helped Holland-on-Sea Short Mat Bowls Club register their first win of the season - albeit in the last game of the season - as they beat Dumont 47-38.

In rink one, Doreen Sadler, Ernie Moles and Jill won 23-6, while in rink two Alan Gregory, Dave Thomas and Peter won 18-14.

Holland-on-Sea would like to dedicate their win to Ida Webster, who sadly passed away over Easter.
