Walton Indoor Bowls Club enjoyed a double success with victories over Brantham and neighbours Frinton.
Brantham paid their annual visit to the Columbine Centre on Saturday and once again played a full part in an enjoyable afternoon.
Although Walton won the match 81-45, it was closer than the final score suggests.
There was very little in it at the halfway stage, before Walton pulled away to open a gap.
Results (Walton first): P Newby, R Wood, A Rawling, A Bradley 15-10; D Perry, R Leaning, L Bradley, J Perry 22-13; A Bridges, E Boddy, G Druce, L Boddy 18-9; L Boxall, B Burrows, J Rayner, B Harding 26-13.
Walton’s ladies were also in action against the familiar faces of Frinton, most of whose players are also members at Walton.
Walton won 70-43 in a triples match where neither side could really claim to have home advantage.
But Frinton were a player short on one rink, which became a doubles match with each player using three woods.
Results (Walton first): O Lane, K Oldhamstead, P Boldock 22-12; R Wood, L Boddy, A Guild, 25-13; B Burrows, L Cuddihey 23-18.
