SUZANNE Warren has once again being named as Tendring’s Female Sports Personality of the Year.

The Holland-on-Sea swimmer has enjoyed huge success in the pool, including winning four gold medals at the European Masters Games.

However, her year has been overshadowed by sadness, following the death of her brother, Tich.

And after reclaiming her award at Tuesday’s prize-giving ceremony at Clacton Town Hall, Warren dedicated her award both to her brother and mum and carer Sheila.

“Winning last year was amazing, so to win again when there are so many talented sports people in the area is incredible,” she said.

“The power of sport has been really true to me this year.

“Swimming has been my escape, with my brother seriously ill and in and out of hospital.

“Mum has been my rock and she deserves this award far more than I do.

“She’s been with me every step of the way, as well as us both pulling together to support my brother, who we sadly lost at the end of August.

“So my award is dedicated to both mum and Tich. My two biggest fans.”

Warren, an elite level S4 disability swimmer, has had a fantastic 2015.

She has smashed four regional and four British records as an S5 swimmer, in addition to eight regional and five British records as an S4.

She will be competing for a place in the British Paralympic team next April and was selected to attend a zonal training camp in September.
