IT’S been a fantastic time for Phoenix Archers.

Jason Pretlove, Jamie Turner and Chris Nunn were in action at the annual Archery GB Grand National Archery Meeting, in Telford.

All three shot exceptionally well and improved their personal best scores.

Pretlove won the double York round, shooting his compound bow over two days, and also achieved two Master Bowman scores. Turner shot his recurve bow and won the highest score at 80 yards, which was combined over the two days of shooting the York round.

Nunn, shooting his recurve bow, won bronze in the handicap improvement award.

He also managed to snatch the best gold from Turner.

Meanwhile, Emma Winnings and Turner attended the annual Clacton Archers competition.

Winnings, shooting her compound bow, won the ladies’ gold in the Albion round.

Turner, shooting his recurve bow, won gents’ gold in the St George round.

Phoenix Archers recently attended two events to help raise awareness for archery in the area.

They attended Tendring Primary School and, most recently, Great Bentley carnival, with an “Archery Have a Go stall”.

Later this year they will be attending the Classic Car show, in Brightlingsea.
