GREAT Bentley Running Club members competed far and wide, including at the Paris and Brighton marathons.

Relative newcomer Luke Groves chose Paris to begin his marathon career and, in energy-sapping temperatures of 21 degrees, he managed a time of five hours, 35 minutes and 40 seconds.

Anna Mills also ran in the French capital, in 3h 40m 5s.

Mike Belton stayed a little closer to home.

Having previously participated in London twice, he ran at Brighton in 4h 6m 34s.

Bentley runners also took part in Parkruns and Scott Young was the first blue vest home at the Colchester event, in 22m 12s.

Others taking part were Chusa Batista, Charlie Keitch, Paul Hollidge, Harrison and Shawn Leek, Claudia Keitch and Bee Palmer Barnes.

Ade Cherry took on a tough course in Bristol and clocked 23m 11s, while Caroline Searle took in the sights on her way round Barnstaple Park in a time of 26m 27s.

Debs Cubberley made her way up to South Manchester and clocked 27m 57s.

Men’s captain Chris Warren started how he means to continue by taking first place in the Flitch Way 10k event, in 38m 21s.

John Bush travelled to Harlow to compete at the St Clare’s Hospice event.

He hopes technical problems do not delay confirmation of his first sub-hour 10k of 59m 44s.
