HOLLAND FC have cruised into the Border League Knockout Cup semi-finals.

The premier division high-fliers have set up a showdown with Little Oakley, after sweeping to an 8-0 victory at Tiptree Jobserve.

Steve Eaton netted a hat-trick in Saturday’s quarter-final and he was joined on the scoresheet by Aaron Keaney (two), Bruce Poole (two) and Neil Goldsworthy.

“It’s brilliant to have got so far in the competition,” said manager Rob Batten.

“We’ve played very well in the cup and now we’re looking forward to what’s bound to be a very close, hard game against Oakley.”

The semi-final will be played at Eastcliff on Saturday, April 4 (kick-off 2.30pm).

In the meantime, Holland, third in the premier division, must concentrate on Saturday’s league trip to Barnston AFC.

“We’ve only lost three games all season,” added Batten.

“A couple of draws have knocked us back a bit but, overall, I’m delighted with the way we’ve performed.

“We’re still not sure what’s happening (in terms of promotion), so we’re just focusing on finishing in the top three.”

In division one, Holland’s reserves host Harwich and Parkeston.
