FRINTON Rotary Club have booked their place in the District Darts final.

It is the first time they have achieved that feat and the success has been dedicated to late colleague Terry Reeves, who was part of their team through the first three rounds.

Frinton made it through after beating Epping Forest in the semi-final at Writtle.

The match was of a high standard and played in good spirits, with fortunes ebbing and flowing throughout.

Frinton set the pace in the singles, winning the first two courtesy of Trevor Sparks and Tony Phelps.

Keith Hockridge and Bob Eason both lost out in the deciding third leg of their ties.

Moving into the doubles, Sparks and Phelps were on fire, seeing off their opponents in very quick time, hitting decisive doubles.

Frinton were back in the lead and it fell upon Hockridge and Eason to secure their place in the final, producing good average scores and hitting the vital doubles first.
