CLACTON 2
BRENTWOOD II 3
East Men’s League division three south-east
CLACTON made a slow start and left themselves too much to do, as they gave the visitors a very generous three-goal head start.
In a five-minute spell inside the first quarter of an hour, they found themselves 3-0 down.
The visitors took advantage of any mistakes, choosing the right passes to leave Clacton keeper Michael Hook exposed.
The Seasiders did manage to get a foothold in the game when some nice work by Jack Ager-Smith earned a short corner, which was slapped home by stalwart Rik Coleman.
Clacton then made the game even more interesting, when Coleman linked up well with Stephen Moriarty.
Captain Carl Parkes was on hand to finish high into the net for his third goal of the season.
Man-of-the-match Denzil Donovan created a number of attacks down the left and Thomas Jones set Coleman away one-on-one, but Clacton were unable to produce an equaliser.
This was despite dominating possession and even losing players to the sin-bin.
On Saturday, Clacton travel to the Olympic Stadium for their last away game of the season, against Waltham Forest.
