GREAT Bentley Running Club had some excellent results at ten and 20-mile races in Tarpley, near Bury St Edmunds.

In the ten-mile race, Alison Clarke was the first lady home in the 60-plus age group, clocking a personal best (PB) in one hour, 31 minutes and 45 seconds.

Also in the ten-mile event were Rachel Giles (1h 23m 56s, for a PB), Debbie Cubberley (1h 39m 38s), Chusa Bautista Fructuoso (1h 25m 55s), Des Bishop (1h 21m 35s), Theresa Bishop (1h 23m 45s), Frank Gardiner (1h 25m 31s) and Claire Groves (1h 28m 11s).

In the 20-mile event, Martin Owen crossed the finish line in just 3h 4m 19s, slashing his PB by 12 minutes.

Shawn Leek also had a new best in 2h 44m 20s – his first club standard – and Alison Day finished her first 20-mile event in 2h 49m 46s (PB).

Jamie Neill ran a PB by five minutes and gained a club standard, in 2h 37m 14s.

Other runners were Janine Simpson (3h 15s), Kevin Stevens (2h 37m 15s), Charlie Keitch (2h 33m 2s) and Luke Groves (3h 43m, PB).

Bentley runners entered four different Parkruns on Saturday.

At Colchester, Joe Alexander once again won the race in a time of 16m 56s.

He was followed by Benjamin Ficken (18m 47s), Malcolm Jarvis (22m 1s), Paul Hollidge (25m 8s), Milly Presland (26m 25s), Phil Presland (26m 25s), Claudia Keitch (26m 27s), Scott Young (26m 27s), Alison Clarke (27m 59s) and Debbie Cubberley (29m 40s).

Claire Groves ran the Tilbury Parkrun in the pouring rain in 26m 50s.

Ade Cherry visited Dulwich to finish in 21m exactly – a PB and bronze club standard.

Lesley and Andy Fuller ran the Great Cornard Parkrun in 25m 21s and 25m 33s respectively.
