FC CLACTON boss David Coyle would love to see his side score a “cheap, scruffy goal”.

Wayne Chapman netted a spectacular leveller against Gorleston, in Tuesday’s Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest at the Rush Green Bowl.

And while delighted and buoyed by the quality of the strike, Coyle said: “We’ve scored three goals in six games and all of them have been outstanding.

“It would be nice to score from a tap-in or a cheap, scruffy goal.

“We seem to find those goals difficult and that’s a concern, because we have a lot of half-chances without being able to take advantage.

“If we starting taking them, it will go a long way to turning defeats into draws and draws into victories.

“We shouldn’t have to rely on people scoring absolute screamers.”

Paul Hillier is unavailable for Saturday’s crunch match at premier division basement boys Ely City.

Tom Holdstock and Lee Peacock are back after serving suspensions while James Dunkley is available again.

Adam Daniels will be assessed after suffering concussion in midweek.

Louie Newland is still a fortnight away from returning because of an ankle injury.
