PLAYERS are warming up for the new Clacton Eight Ball Singles League season, which is due to get under way on March 1.
The league is played to a standard league format, except players compete as individuals rather than in teams.
Forty-five players did battle in four divisions last year and anyone can enter, regardless of ability.
They don’t even have to currently play for a team. Phil Ledgerton will be back to defend his title for a second time.
Marty Cheasley (pictured) will also compete in the premier division this year, having gained promotion after dominating division one last year.
Joining him after also gaining promotion last season will be Stuart Smith and David Finch.
This enhanced division will be a test of Ledgerton’s skills, if he is to go for three successive championship wins.
The league has its own official website which can be found at clactonsinglesleague.leaguerepublic.com It is updated every time a match is played, so players can keep up to date with the latest scores and tables.
Players can enter online and the closing date for entries is Friday, February 28.
