CLACTON Golf Club’s men played their penultimate winter Top Dogs event.

Liam Inwood and Mark Grover were the winners, with a bogey score of plus one.

They won on countback from second-placed Matt Baker and Adam Powell, on countback from Mark Hulstrom and Cliff Cullen.

In the captain/pro challange match, captain Tony Stevens and professional Michael Goodwin had a half with their opponents, Danny Thomas and Gary Roberts.

Meanwhile, Clacton’s seniors played a stableford fun competition and the winner was Bill Highstead, with 39 points.

He won on countback from Bill Austin and in third place was past captain Ray Fage, with 38.

Clacton’s ladies played an irons and putter-only competition.

The winner was Sue Gurry, with a very good stableford score of 38 points.

In second was Sylvia Fenton, with 35, and in third was Lorna Forder, with 32.
