BROTHERS Tyler and Callum Rogers are determined to prove themselves “worthy additions” to FC Clacton’s squad.

The pair joined last week, after parting company with the Seasiders’ Thurlow Nunn League premier division neighbours and rivals Wivenhoe Town.

They said Clacton reserve-team boss Michael Wallace was a big factor in their decision to sign, having previously worked with him at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium.

And they thanked Seasiders boss David Coyle for the opportunity to join another club so soon after leaving Wivenhoe.

“We’d like to thank Michael for helping us find a new club so quickly and making this move possible,” said Tyler, 17.

“Having him there has made it easier for us to go over and settle in.

“And having played under him before and knowing what a superb coach he is, we know how he works.

“It’s good Dave (Coyle) has given us this opportunity to come over and we look forward to fighting for our places in Clacton’s squad.

“We’re both looking forward to the challenge and hopefully our football will prove we’re a worthy addition to the team.”
