Brightlingsea Regent were held to a draw at Romford.

They were hauled back to 2-2 in their Ryman League division one north match.

Brightlingsea took the lead at Romford with a goal on 11 minutes.

Ollie Canfer’s header from a corner smashed against the bar and Jake Holman was on hand to fire home the rebound.

But Romford got back on level terms with a little help from the conditions.

An Abs Seymour free-kick across the area caught the wind and went straight into the back of the net on 31 minutes.

But it was Brightlingsea who regained the lead in the second half.

From a corner, the ball bounced around in the box, keeper Nick Reynolds fumbled the ball and Jordan Heath popped up to smash the ball home on 56 minutes.

However, Romford pulled it back again when a long ball over the top saw Eddie Hart go through and put the ball past Andy Plummer in the Brightlingsea goal five minute later for a share of the spoils.
