BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT boss James Webster believes his high-flying side have enough firepower to cope without talisman Phil Kelly.

The attacking midfielder has 11 goals already this season - one less than top-scorer Ben Newson - but is now unavailable for personal reasons until February.

However, Webster insists his side still have enough in their armoury and hopes they can prove it in the coming weeks - starting with this afternoon’s eye-catching Ryman League division one north match at home to third-placed Wroxham (kick-offf 3pm).

“Phil’s now unavailable for the next six weeks, which is a blow,” said Regent boss Webster, whose in-form side are 11th in the table and just five points behind fifth-placed Aveley, following their excellent 1-0 victory at AFC Sudbury on Boxing Day.

“But I’m happy with our options up front and still feel we’re very strong in that area.

“We have Sean Bartlett, Ben Newson and Russell Malton who can all partner Jordan Heath.”
