HOLLAND Shore Amateur Boxing Club’s Shaun Mannix won the novice junior Essex -60kg final.
The 14-year-old Clacton County High School pupil beat Sam Peck.
In the first round, both boys came out punching with both hands.
However, Mannix threw the stronger punches, giving his opponent a standing count.
In the second round, Mannix started to use his jab and began using the ring more, giving his opponent another standing count.
Peck came out looking for a fight in the third round.
However, Mannix started to use his jab and, in the last minute, he raised his game to give his opponent another standing count, which led to the referee stopping the fight.
