CLACTON’S Jason Levermore booked his place in next year’s BMW PGA Championship after a dazzling display at the Titleist PGA Play-Offs.

Just days after landing the Golfplan Insurance PGA Pro-Captain Challenge title with Channels club captain Neil Hutchinson, he reproduced the goods on his own this time as he finished second to continue an amazing 2014 season.

Former Clacton County High School pupil Levermore carded a best-of-the-day six-under-par 65 in the final round over the PGA Sultan course to finish on 12-under-par for the tournament – just two behind Ireland’s Niall Kearney, a member of the 2009 Walker Cup team.

The 35-year-old’s reward, along with a cheque for £1,500 to go with the £5,000 he won last week, is a return to Wentworth but also a highly-prized place in the Great Britain and Ireland PGA Cup team that will take on the United States at CordeValle, California, next September.
