Keith Wilson has secured his first win as Heybridge Swifts’ manager.

Swifts bagged a 2-0 Ryman League division one north victory at Brightlingsea Regent.

Brightlingsea made a strong start and Swifts keeper Danny Sambridge had to be alert to make a save with his legs as Phil Kelly charged through into the box on three minutes.

The home side did have the ball in the back of the net on 18 minutes but the goal was ruled out for offside.

But it was Swifts who went ahead just before half-time when Neil Richmond struck on 41 minutes to make it 1-0.

Regent kept the pressure on Swifts, however, and Kelly fashioned himself another chance but it went just wide.

In the second half Brightlingsea went close again when Dan Holman hit the bar and Russell Malton’s effort rebounded off the post on 67 minutes following a goalmouth scramble.

However, it was Swifts won doubled their advantage when Liam Springett scored on 89 minutes.

Maldon and Tiptree grabbed a late victory away at Romford.

Maldon fell behind in the second half when Ryan Imbert scored on 58 minutes.

But they equalised on 87 minutes when Tony Martin fired home.

And Leon McKenzie put them 2-1 ahead on 90 minutes.

The score was 0-0 when the game was stopped following a suspected broken leg for Abbey’s Ben Bradbury.

Witham Town were held to a draw in an exciting finish at Harrow Borough in the premier division.

Witham went behind on 23 minutes at Harrow Borough thanks to an Ola Williams strike.

But the visitors got back on level terms in the 58th minute when Josh Mayhew fired home from the penalty spot.

Witham took the lead on 75 minutes when Anthony Page scored an own goal.

However, five minutes later Borough equalised through Stephen Butterworth.

Ryan Charles though put Witham back in front on 82 minutes.

But Franny Otira made it 3-3 on 87 minutes.
