WIVENHOE TOWN and FC CLACTON took pride of place as north Essex sides embarked on their FA Cup campaigns.
Both pulled off eye-catching wins in the extra preliminary round, with the Dragons crushing Enfield 1893 3-0 and the Seasiders hitting back from behind to sink Sporting Bengal United 2-1.
In the process, both pocketed £1,500 and they now advance to preliminary round ties on August 30.
BRANTHAM ATHLETIC, meanwhile, left it late before securing a replay against Codicote but STANWAY ROVERS bowed out after conceding a late winner at Basildon United, losing 3-2.
