FC CLACTON manager Glenn Eldridge believes his side will be one of slickest footballing teams in next season’s Thurlow Nunn League.

The Seasiders have had a hugely-successful pre-season, plundering 28 goals in six friendlies as they ramp up their preparations for next week’s big premier division kick-off at home to Thetford.

Their most recent game was Tuesday’s 4-2 defeat at home to Ryman One North neighbours Brightlingsea Regent.

And despite watching his side lose their first game of the summer, Eldridge is brimming with confidence and “buzzing” about the challenge ahead.

“We look like we’re going to score every time we go forward,” he said.

“We might concede one or two at the other end but hopefully we’ll have the fire-power to out-score a lot of teams.

“I certainly don’t think many, if any, sides will play better football than us.

“Our preparation has been really good and now we can’t wait for the real business to start.”
