FC CLACTON are back in pre-season training.

Seventeen senior players and 32 under-18s took part in Tuesday’s session at the Rush Green Bowl.

Harwich and Parkeston trialists Joss Neale and Nicky Palmer were among those involved.

“It was really good and I was very pleased with the numbers,” said boss Glenn Eldridge.

“I wasn’t expecting that many as some of the lads are still away on holiday.

“It was only a gentle introduction and nothing too strenuous as I’m aware we’re starting early.

“We just wanted to get the boys together again.”

Wayne Chapman, who is joining from Gas Rec, has been given extra time off as he only finished playing in late May, due to the extended Essex and Suffolk Border League season.
