HUNDREDS of visitors made the most of the sunshine to hone their skills at Frinton Lawn Tennis Club.
The Holland Road club welcomed the public for their annual open day, on Saturday.
The courts were available to sample for free and other highlights included cardio tennis, junior tennis demonstrations and coaching, beat the coach and how fast is your serve? challenges.
“It was a fantastic day – made all the better by the beautiful weather – and we had hundreds of visitors,” said committee member Michelle Barker.
“Eighty new members joined, including lots of families, and the club was a hive of activity, with so much going on.
“The atmosphere was lovely.
“People used the courts and enjoyed our different challenges and, given the sunshine, our swimming pool also proved very popular.”
The club are now gearing up for the tournament season, when they will host various prestigious junior and senior competitions.
Highlights on the senior calendar are the Frinton International Seniors (July 7 to 12), the Aegon Pro-Series Men’s $15k event (July 13 to 19), the Aegon British Tour (July 14 to 19) and the Aegon Men’s Summer County Cup (July 21 to 25).
