EIGHT teams competed for the title of Tendring School Games netball winners for 2014.
The event took place at Clacton County High School, with the champions also going on to represent the district at the Sainsbury School Games Level Three (Essex) finals.
The event was for years five and six mixed – both girls and boys – and there were a number of top-class performances.
Brightlingsea Junior School were crowned winners after success in the final against a very good Walton side.
The full rankings on the day were: 1 Brightlingsea, 2 Walton, 3 Mayflower, 4 Rolph, 5 Broomgrove, 6 Alton Park, 7 Cann Hall, 8 Frinton.
Coach Louise Taggart was on hand to pass on top tips, helping players and officials improve throughout the day.
Tendring School Games organiser Daniel Tight praised all the participants for their sportsmanship and effort.
He thanked the teachers and their schools for allowing and organising teams to compete, at what is a very busy time in the primary school year.
Tight also extended his thanks to Andrew Swindin and his team of Young Leaders from Clacton County High School.
