SUZANNE Warren gained a bronze medal at the British Para-swimming International, in Glasgow.
The Holland-on-Sea swimmer was competing in her first-ever international event.
However, she was unfazed by the occasion, despite being up against swimmers from across the world and competing in the same pool that will be used for this year’s Commonwealth Games.
Her medal came in the women’s 50 metres backstroke and she qualified for the final with a personal best (PB) time of 58.05 seconds.
The Colchester Phoenix swimmer then took bronze in a time of 59.47s.
It meant she finished third behind Paralympic gold medalists and world-record holders Pin Xiu Yip (Singapore) and Lisette Teunissen (Netherlands).
