HOLLAND FC have booked their place in this season’s Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League Knockout Cup final.
The coastal side advanced after a brilliant 2-0 victory at home to premier division high-fliers Harwich and Parkeston, on Saturday.
Their opponents will be Alresford Colne Rangers, who proved too strong for Little Oakley, winning a surprisingly one-sided contest 5-0.
Holland got off to a great start, taking the lead in only the seventh minute. Bobby Bethell gave away a free-kick and when the cross was swung in, goalkeeper Scott Wass was unable to reach the ball, allowing Dave Chapman to fire into the net for 1-0.
Holland looked the more likely to score during the second half and increased their lead in the 70th minute.
A quick break and an accurate cross resulted in Liam Macklin tapping in to make it 2-0.
Two dismissals saw Holland finish with only nine men, but it came too late to influence the outcome and there was no way back for Harwich.
