FC CLACTON boss Glenn Eldridge described his side’s stirring fightback against Brightlingsea Regent as “outstanding”.

The Seasiders recovered from two-down, netting quick-fire goals to draw 2-2 against their Tendring rivals in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division on Tuesday night.

Aaron Condon got the ball rolling with a confident penalty, before in-form Tom Holdstock lashed an unstoppable effort past Regent keeper Ryan Bedingfield.

“It was a great game and a credit to non-league football,” said Eldridge.

“I was so proud of my players.

“They’ve got so much heart and every one of them was outstanding, including the substitutes.

“Other teams may have more money but what they haven’t always got is what we’ve got – spirit."
