FC CLACTON pocketed a useful point from their 1-1 draw at home to Norwich United today.
Tom Holdstock gave them a dream start with a goal in the opening minutes, volleying home after chesting down a delivery from Aaron Condon.
But Norwich levelled before half-time in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest, rifling home through a crowded area after a corner was only half-cleared.
Clacton goalkeeper Joe Fowler made two brilliant saves to keep his side level and there was late drama at the other end when Louie Newland saw a long-range screamer clatter against the bar.
Then, in the last few seconds, the hosts had a goal disallowed for an alleged foul.
