A CLACTON archery ace is on target for Great Britain representation.
George Johnson, 16, beat off stiff competition to be chosen for the sport’s national performance academy programme.
Only 60 junior archers were selected from thousands of hopefuls.
Tendring Technology College student Johnson, a member of the St Osyth- based Priory Bowmen, is now six months into the process and spends a weekend a month in Gloucestershire, working with an Olympic coach.
His training regime also dictates that he must shoot at least a thousand arrows a week.
