FC CLACTON’S players must start playing with more passion and pride.

That’s the view of boss Glenn Eldridge, who was left seething after last week’s 4-3 defeat against Ely City.

The Seasiders dropped into the Thurlow Nunn League premier division relegation zone after throwing away a 2-0 lead.

They made it 3-3 thanks to an 88th-minute penalty – only to concede a freak stoppage-time winner scored by Ely’s goalkeeper.

Eldridge was “livid” afterwards and says his players have to start playing for the Clacton badge.

“The players must show more passion and pride,” he said.

“They have to start playing for the badge and I can’t instil that in them – it’s got to come from within."
