Daniels grabs a late winner for Clacton against Wivenhoe

FC CLACTON sneaked a 1-0 victory in tonight’s Thurlow Nunn League derby at Wivenhoe Town.

Adam Daniels scored their winner, heading home a late corner from Kyelan Marvell.

Daniels had earlier seen another header ruled out for a foul, while Tom Holdstock missed a golden late chance to make it 2-0.

Wivenhoe’s Ben Parkin smashed the bar with a shot during the first half and Peter Maina should have done better with the goal at his mercy.

For the reaction of both managers, see Thursday’s Gazette.

Maybe this year Wivenhoe will finally be relegated having escaped for so many seasons before. They are and have been punching above their weight a long time!
