A STAR-STUDDED field including Britain’s Olympic heroines will race in Tendring as part of cycling’s inaugural Women’s Tour.

Eleven of the world’s top 14 professional women’s teams will compete in the district this May.

And joining the already-confirmed Marianne Vos and her Rabo Liv team will be the Wiggle Honda team of British Olympians Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell and Dani King, plus top outfits Orica–AIS, Boels Dolmans, Specialized Lululemon.

Alongside them will be the national side of the world’s number one-ranked nation, the Netherlands, plus a Great Britain national team led by Leicestershire’s Lucy Garner.

The 96-strong field will race in Tendring on Friday, May 9, when the finish of stage three is in Clacton, and again on Sunday, May 11, when the final stage heads off from Harwich.
