FC CLACTON boss Glenn Eldridge is close to bolstering his squad with new signings.

The Seasiders are preparing for a hectic end to the season, with postponed Thurlow Nunn League fixtures having to be rescheduled for Tuesday nights.

Some players struggle to be available in midweek, due to work commitments, so Eldridge is taking steps to bring additions to the Rush Green Bowl.

He has a defender and two midfielders on his radar and said: “I’m hoping to bring another couple of players in, hopefully in the next week or so.

“The rest of the season is going to test our squad, especially in midweek when one or two have a problem because of work.

“I don’t want us to be left short with a squad of 13 or 14, when it should be more like 17 or 18.”
