GEOFF Manning and Terry McTear won the latest Winter Top Dogs event, at Clacton Golf Club.

The pair won round nine with a bogey score of plus eight, on countback from second-placed Peter Hewett and Terry Hewitt.

In third, with plus seven, were Adam Powell and Liam Inwood.

Sixty members played, in total.

Meanwhile, 50 senior members turned out for a stableford fun competition, on a bright Monday morning.

The winner was Andy Moore, with 46 points.

In second was Doug Nichols, with 41, and in third was John Stuck, with 40, on countback from fourth-placed Tony Burnside.

Clacton’s ladies played a stableford hi-lo competition and the winners were Chris Crossfield and Eve Bracci, with 41 points.

In second were lady captain Janet Smith and Kath Sinnott, with 33, and in third were Pat Messenger and Steph Smith, with 32.
