BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent manager James Webster says his players are gunning for promotion – and matching the faith shown by the club’s committee.
The Thurlow Nunn League side have applied for step four football and those behind the scenes are working tirelessly to make sure the club is ready to go up.
Top of the agenda are ground improvements, to ensure Regent match the strict criteria needed for Ryman League football.
And as for matters on the pitch, Webster says his players are sticking to their side of the bargain.
They followed up Saturday’s 3-1 victory at Norwich United with a 2-1 success at Brantham Athletic, on Tuesday night.
“The club have gone out on a limb to do everything necessary off the pitch to get us in a position to gain promotion,” said Webster.
“We don’t want to let them down on the pitch and, thankfully, at the moment, we’re not doing that.
“We’re backing up the club’s faith by getting results like these."
